Music lovers and mothers of all ages are invited to a concert featuring a “bouquet” of musical favorites honoring mothers ahead of their special day. Led by Aaron Collins, the Space Coast Symphony will perform classical and popular favorites, including selections from Leroy Anderson, John Phillip Sousa, Richard Rodgers, John Williams, Ellington, Gershwin, and other familiar composers.
Joining the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will be international pianist Marius Tesch, to perform Franz Liszt’s brilliant and fiery showpiece, Piano Concerto No. 1. Children in the audience will be invited to participate on stage with the orchestra and mothers will receive a free gift (supply limited) as they arrive at the concert.
Tickets are $20 in advance and are available through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or at several convenient ticket outlets, including Marine Bank & Trust (beachside and mainland branches) and Madison Avenue Consignments. The concert is free for those aged 18 and under or with a student ID. Tickets at the door are $25. Call toll free to (855) 252-7276 for more information.
Aaron T. Collins is fresh from his win of the Richard A. Stark Award for cultural leadership, presented by the Cultural Council of Indian River County. The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra Conductor and Artistic Director talks about the annual concert that has become a community favorite.
“If you’re looking for a way to show mom how much you appreciate her,” said Collins. “This is it. And since admission is free for anyone under 18 or with a student I.D., the whole family can attend the concert together to celebrate. It’s great. Trust me, she will enjoy this more than a flowered bathrobe.”
