VERO BEACH — A Vero Beach man who was on the run from drug charges has turned himself into police.
The Vero Beach Police Department announced this afternoon that Cameron D. Roth, 26, turned himself in Wednesday at 3:18 p.m. He is currently being held at Indian River County Jail in lieu of $23,500 bond.
The police’s Special Investigation Unit executed a search warrant on April 12 at a home in the 3400 block of 21st Street. Authorities found marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia.
Based on the discovery of the drugs, detectives received an arrest warrant for Roth.
Roth faces charges that include felony possession of more than 20 grams of cannabis and psilocybin – a psychedelic compound produced by more than 200 species of mushrooms – and drug paraphernalia possession.
Roth was arrested a day before the search warrant was issued, on April 11, on unrelated charges including misdemeanor driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
He was released from the county jail on April 12 after posting $2,000 bond.
