VERO BEACH — Emergency crews are responding to the Vero Beach Regional Airport — but fear not, there’s no real or present danger. The airport is undergoing a required full-scale mock disaster drill.
The drill, called the Triennial Exercise, involves numerous agencies and departments that would respond in the event of a massive emergency.
The Vero Beach Regional Airport must conduct the drill training in keeping with regulations from the Federal Aviation Administration, which licenses Vero Beach Regional as an Air Carrier Airport.
