James William Marshall Jr., 90, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 22, 2016, surrounded by family at the VNA Hospice House.
He is survived by his son John W. (Allene) Marshall; daughters Linda Ruth (Matt) Napier and Debbie S. (George) Kmetz, all of Vero Beach; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nellie Ruth Marshall.
Marshall was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Marine Corps and receiving a Purple Heart for his actions.
He had been a carpenter prior to his retirement and had worked for various contractors in Vero Beach. One of his favorite projects included the steeple of the First Baptist Church in Vero Beach. He was of the Baptist faith.
Marshall was a member of the American Legion Post #39 and Moose Lodge #1822 of Vero Beach.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce.
