Edward Nelson Wright Jr., 74, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 21, 2016.
He is survived by his wife Judith Wright; daughter Karen Clement; son Stephen Wright; sister Lauren (David) Brown; and grandsons Brennen and Tyler Wright.
He was predeceased by his youngest son, James Daniel Wright and grandson Russell Wayne Clement, Jr.
Wright was born on March 26, 1942 in Withrop, Mass., to the late Edward and Alice Wright.
He was a graduate of Suitland High School, Class of 1959 and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland.
Wright was a United States Air Force Veteran serving as an airman and receiving honors such as AFGCM, SO G-77, and Hq WAADS. He also served as Worshipful Master and Grand Lodge Secretary at the Masonic Lodge in Portsmouth, N.H.
He retired in 1983 from Prince George’s Police Department in Maryland. In 2008, he celebrated a second retirement from Portsmouth, N.H., as a Chief Juvenile Justice Parole and Probation Officer.
There will be a memorial service held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, 475 43rd Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32968. A Masonic Service will be at 1:30 p.m. before the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
