Deacon Harry Broering Jr., 87, Vero Beach

Deacon Harry Broering Jr., 87, of Vero Beach and Medina passed away on April 21, 2016.

He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife Irene of 63 years; daughter Joann (Wayne) Boggs; grandchildren Nicholas, Betsy, Kayla (Patrick) Moore, Anderson and Emily; great-grandchildren Jordyn, Emmalynn and Ryleigh; his brother Richard (Marlene); many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry Sr. and Clara, his son Eric and grandson Peter.

Broering was born on Sept. 3, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was a veteran in the United States Army, and retired as an engineer with Standard Oil Company of Ohio. He married Irene (nee Bouchez) on July 4, 1953.

Broering was ordained in 1982 as a Deacon with the Diocese of Cleveland. He Ministered at Our Lady of Grace Church, St. Matthias in Ohio, and Mother of Mercy Church in Washington, N.C. He was a member of 4th degree, Knights of Columbus. In his personal time, he enjoyed his family, traveling, golfing and fishing.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m., with Prayer Service starting at

7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx & Rt. 18), Medina, Ohio 44256. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. with a half hour viewing prior. Please meet at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 East Washington St. Medina, Ohio 44256. Bishop Rogers officiating. Burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to St. Francis Xavier School or Medina Right to Life.
