INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The second murder suspect accused of killing a man in a hotel room in 2014 is now in the Indian River County Jail following extradition from New Jersey.
Jason Hiler, 26, is in the jail in lieu of $500,000 bail, facing a third-degree murder charge.
Hiler joins his co-defendant, Javon Roberts, 22, who had already been booked into the jail.
Earlier this month, the Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests of Hiler and Roberts for the murder of 30-year-old Kevin Howe.
Howe was shot to death in a Hampton Inn hotel room in Vero Beach in 2014.
Investigators continued their work, tracking leads and using forensic tools to identify fingerprints that helped lead to the arrests.
