Paul Cavert Fred, 81, of Stuart, formerly of Vero Beach, passed away on April 17, 2016.
He is survived by his wife June of Stuart; daughter Lynn (Rex) Hailey of Vero Beach; son John (Jennifer) Fred of Palm Bay; five grandchildren: Rex Lee Hailey of Vero Beach, Ryan (Courtney) Hailey also of Vero Beach, Sydney Fred, Gracie Fred, and John Fred all of Palm Bay; great-granddaughter Camile Hailey of Vero Beach; sister Betty Cato of Lake Worth, Fla.; and two brothers, Walter Fred of Vero Beach and Michael Fred of Hudson, Fla. He is also survived by his former wife, Alma Fred of Vero Beach.
He was predeceased by his dad Virgil Fred, mom Juanita Fred and sister Geraldine Cato.
Fred was a graduate of Vero Beach High School, Class of 1953. He was a United States Army veteran having served from 1954 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict.
He spent many years with General Finance Corp, Vero Beach and was the owner and operator of Paul Fred’s Auto Sales, Vero Beach.
Fred loved to hunt, fish, and garden, and enjoyed fishing with Vero Beach Bass Masters.
A Celebration of Life BBQ will be held in Paul’s honor on Saturday, May 14th, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Kiwanis – Hobart Park, Pavilion #2, 5790 77th St., Vero Beach, FL.
