Vero man held on attempted murder charge

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Vero Beach man is under arrest for attempted murder.

Kenneth Traynor, 51, was arrested for the attempted murder of Stephen Vorhees, according to Indian River County spokesman Lt. Eric Flowers. The incident occurred shortly before midnight last night at 475 13th Pl. SW. 

Traynor faces charges of felony attempted murder, felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and a misdemeanor refusal to provide a DNA sample, according to his booking report. 

Vorhees was transported to Lawnwood Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities. 

Traynor is being held in lieu of $505,000 bond at the Indian River County Jail.
