Susan C. Piccirillo, 74, Vero Beach

Susan C. Piccirillo, 74, of Vero Beach, passed away on march 30, 2016.

She is survived by her loving husband Peter of 56 years; daughters Linda, Janet and Sally; sons-in-law Bruce Warrington, Dave Yamasaki and Steve Randall; and grandchildren Eric, Bryan, Samantha, Jeffrey, Peter, Nicholas, Andrew and Shannon.

Piccirillo was welcomed into the world on May 12, 1941 as Susan Lynn Cole by Elizabeth and Albert Cole on Staten Island, N.Y. She graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1959. She met the love of her life, Peter Piccirillo, early on. She was a young bride of 18-years-old when they wed on Nov. 1, 1959.

After marrying, she and Peter lived in Ohio for two years and moved back to New Jersey when Piccirillo was pregnant with their first child. While living in Long Valley, N.J., she and Peter went on to have three devoted daughters.

She loved dancing with Peter, going shopping and seeing musicals with her family. They enjoyed over 50 years living together in Long Valley and during that time their family grew. Each daughter married and they welcomed three sons-in-law in to the family and eventually eight wonderful grandchildren.

Although Piccirillo worked over the years in Hackettstown Hospital as a beauty consultant with Merle Norman Cosmetics, received her Cosmetology license from Wilfred Beauty Academy, and volunteered at Welkind Rehabilitation Hospital, her greatest calling was to be a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.

After Piccirillo retired in 1998 from his coaching and teaching careers, she and Peter enjoyed being Florida snowbirds. Then in 2014, they sold their home in Long Valley and moved to Vero Beach full time.

She passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2016 after being rushed to Indian River Medical Center.

Susan was a sweet, loving and beautiful person who was quick to laugh with family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, April, 7, 2016 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
