Marjorie H. McFadden, 95, Vero Beach

Marjorie H. McFadden, 95, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2016.

She is survived by her children Ann Stryker, Katy McFadden, Marie McFadden, Regina Moran (Hank) who all honor her with great love and respect as do her seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

McFadden graced her family with 95-plus years of love and nearly a century of her wisdom, history and life lessons, treasures of experience and nurturing that will continue to unfold over time among her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves a grand legacy of life, lived to its fullness and its most meaningful purpose. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 8, 1920, to immigrant parents from Ireland and Scotland, she was blessed with inner resourcefulness, loved learning and being self-sufficient.

She married Neil McFadden in Washington, D.C. on June 7, 1941. While raising a family of five children, she also worked as an assistant to attorneys in Keansburg and Red Bank, N.J.

Her most challenging and rewarding work was at Bell Labs in Holmdel, N.J. After her retirement in 1985, she moved to Vero Beach where she enjoyed many friends, playing golf and volunteer work. She was always way ahead of her time, always with style, and always loved and nurtured her family.

She has been a force of nature. She is a most beloved mother. She has lived a meaningful and full life. Her memory is within us all.

A memorial service will be held on April 8, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Chapel in Middletown, N.J. Letters of condolence and stories can be shared on her web page at www.strunkfuneralhome.com.
