Hershel Elders Screws, 90, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 29, 2016.
He is survived by his daughter Debbie Sherlin (Dusty); sons Steve A. Screws, James D. Screws and Jerry E. Screws all of Vero Beach; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Hazel, in 2011.
Screws was born in Hagan, Ga., and lived in Vero Beach coming from Claxton, Ga., in 1962.
He was a US Army veteran serving in WWII. He retired from Couch Manufacturing, Grand, Fla., in 1990.
He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Vero Beach. He was an avid fisherman and loved to feed the squirrels.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday April 8, 2016 at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 1927 27th Avenue, Vero Beach.
