Residents to shred sensitive papers during Earth Day
- On April 23, while the City of Sebastian celebrates Earth Day at Riverview Park, residents can drop off as many as three boxes or bags of sensitive papers and documents for secure shredding, courtesy of Waste Management. Residents can also drop off old electronics to be recycled. The drop-off is from 9 a.m. to Noon. Call 772-388-8232.
Police put on notice: Stop speeders from racing though town
- The Sebastian City Council has put the Police Department on notice that more enforcement needs to be done to curtail speeding throughout town. “Without enforcement, people are going to continue to speed,” said Councilman Richard Gillmor, adding “Some people in the city are speed demons.” The Council is looking to Sebastian Police to step up patrols and issue tickets instead of warnings.
Fellsmere Community meeting coming April 9
- The Fellsmere Action Community Team – FACT – will be holding a meeting for the general public on April 9 starting at 11 a.m. at the Community Center. The purpose of the meeting is to get the public’s opinions and comments on various aspects of city life so FACT can craft recommendations for moving forward.
