Rifle stolen from Sebastian Police detective’s vehicle still missing

EDITORS NOTE: It was brought to our attention that this happened March of 2015. But, the weapon has not yet been recovered. 

SEBASTIAN — A Sebastian Police detective’s rifle was stolen from his police vehicle earlier this month and authorities are still searching for the firearm.

During the overnight hours of March 2, 2015, a Bush Master Rifle, cal. 223-5.56MM, model XM15-E27, with a serial number of L475946 was stolen from a detective’s vehicle at Barber Street and Englar Drive, according to police.

The detective has been counseled, according to Sebastian Police Chief Michelle Morris.
