Sheriff’s Office seeks help identifying aggressive truck driver

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — After a couple of weeks without reported incidents, another tip has come into authorities regarding an aggressive truck driver harassing motorists.

The latest incident occurred earlier this week when the black truck that others had reported flashed its lights and swerved around a female driver heading west on 8th Street in the area of 66th Avenue.

The truck and the female’s vehicle stopped at a fruit stand and as the female pulled away, the truck followed close behind. According to the driver’s parent who contacted VeroNews.com, the truck was right behind her as she got into her neighborhood.

The incident is similar in nature to those reported earlier this month via social media. In one case, the truck rear ended a female driver’s vehicle at the intersection of 4th Street and Old Dixie Highway and continued to pursue the woman, trying to run her off the road, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The woman was ultimately able to evade the truck.

The Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone who may know who this driver is or anyone who has been in a similar confrontation with the truck to contact Det. Richard Olsen by calling (772) 978-6256 and reference case 2016-40082.

For those who wish to remain anonymous or who do not want to speak to law enforcement, you can contact Treasure Coast Crime Stopper at 1-800-273-TIPS (8477). You can remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00.

“Please call us if you see any suspicious activity, as your call may be the one that helps us catch a criminal,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post about the incidents.
