Harry D. Carlson, 95, Vero Beach

Harry D. Carlson, 95, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 10, 2016, at the VNA Hospice House. His beloved wife, Peg Carlson was by his side.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Peg (Stroud) Carlson, nephews, nieces, and many other family and friends.

He was predeceased by all seven siblings along with his first wife of 20 years, Grace Wellington.

Carlson was born May 10, 1920 in Dover, N.J., the son of David Carlson and Anna (Peterson) Carlson. He served in combat in Europe during WWII as a T/Sgt with the U.S. Army 71st Infantry Division. After the war, he was employed by the Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, N.J., as Administrative Division Chief from which he retired. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for 21 years.

A memorial service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1708 43rd Avenue, Vero Beach on Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow. Burial will be in Chester Township, N.J. An online guestbook is available at www.lowtherfuneralhome.com.
