James L. DeForest, 74, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 7, 2016.
He is survived by his wife Sharon (Campion) DeForest; brother George DeForest; sister-in-law Sheryl (Robert) Snyder all of Vero Beach; son James Jr. and daughter, Jennifer of Wilbraham, Mass.; daughters Kimberly, Cheryl, and Lisa of Barrington, N.J.; stepmother Janice DeForest and sisters Caron, Beth, Susan and Sandra of Ocean City, N.J.; grandchildren Cameron, Brynn, Tyler, Sumer, Nicholas and Danielle; several nieces and nephews, as well as many more family members and good friends.
Born in January of 1942, DeForest lived a large part of his life in Vero Beach, and Vineland, N.J. until he moved to Wilbraham, Mass., where he opened his own graphics company-DeForest Associates.
He was proud of his company and all of his employees, enjoyed 20 years of operation, and in 2003 retired to Vero Beach where he lived out the rest of his life.
While residing in Massachusetts, DeForest was actively involved with the Wilbraham Peach Festival, Boston Road Business Association, local Boy Scout Troop #177, and a honored supporter of the DARE program. He was a member of the Wilbraham United Church and Ludlow Elks Lodge #2448.
He was an avid bowler and fisherman. He enjoyed Nascar, star gazing, bold sunsets, and life!
Memorial services will be held at a later time, at the convenience of the family.
