INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The three people involved in the fatal crash Friday on Interstate 95 have been identified.
The Florida Highway Patrol Saturday released more details regarding the rollover crash near the Vero Beach exit.
Jordaneous Woolverton, 22, of Alabama, died as a result of the crash. He was ejected from the 2003 Ford Expedition as it rolled over. He was pronounced dead at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.
Woolverton was not wearing a seatbelt, according to FHP.
The driver, identified as 23-year-old Tresston Ray, and a passenger, Shyheim Benton, 21, both of Alabama, were injured. According to FHP, both were wearing seatbelts.
Benton’s injuries were classified as serious while Ray’s were noted as minor in the FHP report.
FHP said in the report that the Ford Expedition was traveling south on I-95 near milemarker 147 when it crossed the inside shoulder and went through the median, rolling over as it crossed into the northbound lanes and stopped.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
