Harry B. Kates, 92, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 4, 2016.
He was the beloved husband of Caroline N. (nee King) Kates and the loving father of H. Booth Kates (Susie) and Marilyn J. Kates. He is also survived by his four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Marilyn Kries, a granddaughter Heidi and a great- grandson Kaden.
Kates was born in Camden, N.J., and raised in Collingswood, N.J.
He graduated from Collingswood High School in 1941. He was employed by NJ Bell Telephone Company from 1942 until his retirement in 1982. He enlisted and served in the US Army Signal Corps in Europe from April 1943 until he was honorably discharged in November 1945.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge SS NJ, Excelsior Consistory, Shriners and the Trinity Episcopal Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach. An Interment Service will be held on Friday, March 11 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson, N.J.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home in Medford, N.J.
