Ronald B. Westmoreland, 66, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 2, 2016, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Westmoreland was born in Washington, D.C., and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 35 years coming from Maryland.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Faith Westmoreland, of Vero Beach; son Scott Westmoreland (Cathy) of Vero Beach; daughters Michelle Waters, of Stuart, Tammy Wells (Jim) of Port St. Lucie and Kristin Moore (Randy) of Vero Beach; brothers Roy Westmoreland of Maryland and Garland Westmoreland of Virginia. He also leaves behind four grandchildren and one great-grandchild to cherish his memory.
He was predeceased by his parents, Doil and Amber Westmoreland; brother Bob Westmoreland, and his sister Diana Metzger.
He was a state trooper for 12 years while in Maryland. He also owned and operated Apple Sales and Service Appliance Store. He was very community oriented. He would drive others to their doctor appointments and visit others that were in the hospital.
Westmoreland was of the Baptist faith and a member of the King Baptist Church in Vero Beach. He was a Sunday School teacher and an active member of the Gideons Society, The St. Lucie Chamber of Commerce and The Fraternal Order of Police. Christ was King of his life.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce. There will be a service held on Tuesday, March 08, 2016 at Kings Baptist Church at 11 a.m. in Vero Beach, followed by an Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
