Dorothy “Dottie” Lillian Kraik, 84, died on Feb. 25 at Indian River Medical Center.
Dorothy was born and grew up in Torrington, CT. In 1967, Dorothy moved to Vero Beach where she worked as a domestic at the Driftwood Inn and a dishwasher at The Colonial Restaurant. When the Colonial Restaurant closed, she and her best friend, Hildie Parker, became the house cleaning duo and cleaned homes for many years.
Dottie has made her home at St. Francis Manor since 1987 where she enjoyed volunteering in the kitchen, social hall, and beauty shop. Dottie will be missed by the many friends that she made while living at St. Francis Manor.
Dottie loved going out to eat, especially at Applebee’s, where they called her Sparkles, and Bob Evans.
Dottie loved her doll and stuffed animal collection and proudly displayed them in her apartment.
Survivors include her twin sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Bergeron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Florence Kraik; and a sister, Mary Zisk; and her best friend, Hilda Parker.
A Celebration of Life Brunch and Dedication Service will be held at St. Francis Manor on Saturday, April 2, at 11 a.m.
