Lorraine Arline Peterson, 87, Vero Beach

Lorraine Arline Peterson, 87, of Vero Beach, passed from this life to eternal life on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at VNA Hospice House. Born March 16, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mildred Johnson, and moved to Vero Beach in 1955.

Lorraine was a loving mother and homemaker, and her prized possessions were her family and friends. Her legacy of faith in the Lord will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Church of God in Vero Beach, where she faithfully served as a teller, and was also a volunteer with the IRMC Auxiliary for 20 years.

Lorraine is survived by her four children and spouses, Phyllis (Kevin) Kershner, of Sebastian, Gayle (Brian) Watson, of Vero Beach, Bonnie (William) Carmine, of Sebastian, and Kenneth (Marsha) Peterson, of Vero Beach; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and brother, Gordon (Sue) Johnson, of Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was predeceased by her brother, Edwin Johnson, Jr., of Raleigh, N.C.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 13, at 3 p.m. at First Church of God, 1105 58th Avenue, Vero Beach, with a reception immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of God, or VNA Hospice of Indian River County, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, in memory of Lorraine Peterson.
