Woman arrested for Fellsmere fire that kills one

FELLSMERE — A woman has been arrested  in connection to a arson case in Fellsmere that resulted in the death of an 82-year-old Fellsmere man on Thursday.

Billie Ann Lieberman, 52, address not listed, is now being held in the Indian River County Jail in lieu of $1 million.

As of Friday afternoon, her charges were listed as felony arson resulting in serious injury and felony arson of a structure.

Law enforcement responded to a fire at 10385 130th Avenue in Fellsmere Thursday where Patrick Sullivan, 45, had rescued Alonzo Sharp, 82, from a burning structure.

Sharp was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center and then Orlando Regional Medical Center where he passed away Thursday night.

Detectives determined the fire “started as a result of Lieberman’s actions that morning” according to an official statement from the Sheriff’s Office.

Lieberman reportedly received burns to her face and hands, and was treated for smoke inhalation, the Sheriff’s Office reports.
