Naked man on drugs arrested after walking into Sebastian auto shop

SEBASTIAN — A Sebastian man claiming to be high on mushrooms was arrested after walking into a Sebastian auto body shop, naked from the waist down.

Micah Strafford, 20, of 262 Easy Street, Sebastian, now faces one charge for exposure of sexual organs and another for disorderly conduct.

Authorities responded to the 1100 block of Louisiana Avenue in Sebastian after dispatch received a call from a person who stated he was dying.

Upon arrival, police saw a man wearing nothing but a t-shirt leaving an auto body shop in the area.

Witnesses said they heard a loud noise in the auto shop, observed a motorcycle had been knocked down and saw a man now identified as Strafford walking around half-naked.

Police immediately arrested Strafford, who told them he had taken acid, mushrooms, ecstasy and heroin, and smoked marijuana. Strafford made statements that did not make sense and appeared to be hallucinating, according to the arrest report.

Strafford was transported to an area hospital for treatment. As the drugs began to wear off, Strafford told authorities he had eaten five to six “shrooms” at approximately 9 a.m. that morning. He said he was unaware of where he was and did not remember anything that happened.

After being released from the hospital, Strafford was booked in the Indian River County Jail where he remains in lieu of $1,000 bond.
