Day Trippin’ with Patti and Vicky goes to the Everglades Feb. 26

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Day Trippin’ with Patti and Vicky is headed to the Everglades National Park and the Big Cypress Preserve on Friday, Feb. 26.

Explore the “River of Grass” via a tram guided by an Everglades National Park Ranger.

Visitors will be entering Everglades National Park via Shark Valley where they may see more alligators than they can imagine (depending on the weather).

Following the visit to Shark Valley, Day Trippers will hop back on board the Magic Carpet bus and head over to Big Cypress Preserve to get a “taste” of Big Cypress Preserve at the Big Cypress Welcome Center and the Oasis Visitor Center.

If time and weather allow, visitors may get to do some exploring within the Preserve. A stop will also be made to the Gallery of famed photographer, Clyde Butcher. Lunch will be at Joanie’s Blue Crab Restaurant somewhere “out there in the swamp.”

Cost is $125 and includes bus transportation and admissions to both parks; cost of lunch is not included. Bus pickup sites will include the IHOP Restaurant in Westside Vero off State Road 60 and Hilton Garden in St. Lucie West. If a bus stop is necessary south of Port St. Lucie, it may be arranged.
