Barbara A. Bollinger, 92, Vero Beach

Barbara A. “Bobbi” Bollinger, 92, of Vero Beach, passed away on Feb. 12, 2016, with her husband Henry at her side.

She is survived by her three children, Henry Martin Bollinger III (Carla), William Hardy Bollinger (Michelle) and Patricia Bollinger Squire (Ronald); eight grandchildren: Michele, Brian, Tracey, Gregg, Mark, Kristin, Lisa and Jeanette; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister Eleanor Hardy.

Bollinger was born June 6, 1923, in San Antonio, Texas, to Harold and Zelma Hardy.

She moved to New York at the age of 17 and attended nursing school where she met and married the love of her life, Henry Martin Bollinger Jr. and together, they enjoyed 70 years of wonderful marriage.

Bollinger worked first as a nurse, then in the Islip Public School system on Long Island N.Y., as a Media Specialist, before retirement. She moved to the Vero Beach area 22 years ago to retire in the beautiful Florida sunshine.

She enjoyed memberships in many organizations, including the Barefoot Bay Red Hat Society, Honor NY Club, VFW Auxiliary, Homemakers, German Heritage Club, Square Dance Club & the Vision Impaired group. Though these affiliations she made many wonderful friendships that she truly cherished to the very end.

A visitation will be held at Aycock Funeral Home, 6026 US Hwy 1, Fort Pierce, on Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. Arrangements are under the care of Aycock Funeral Home.
