Carl Bartuccio, 89, Vero Beach

Carl Bartuccio, 89, of Vero Beach, passed away on Feb. 7, 2016, at Indian River Medical Center.

He is survived by three sisters and four brothers, living in Florida, Michigan and Ohio; his son Dale A. Bartuccio and daughter Darleen J. Bartuccio Smith, both of Vero Beach; and three grandchildren.

Bartuccio was born in North Bergen, N.J., the first born son to Philomena and Rosario Bartuccio, Sr. He was a loving father and was married 43 years to Donna J. Bartuccio until her death in 1992.

He was in the US Army and served from September 1944 through September 1946. He served in the Philippine Islands and mainland Japan after the war ended. After service to his country, he worked in the grocery business for 26 years at the former A&P, primarily as a produce manager. In his later years and until he stopped working, he was employed at Publix Supermarkets.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home. Following will be a Memorial Service at Grace Lutheran Church, 1150 41st Avenue, Vero Beach, FL at 3 p.m. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, Ohio.
