Kevin M. Donovan, 70, of Vero Beach, passed away on Feb. 9, 2016.
He is survived by his devoted fiancé Paula Ferguson; children Elaine (White) Imbrogna and Kevin C. Donovan and son-in-law Charles Imbrogna; granddaughter Caitlin (Steve) Scothorne; great-grandson Connor and Baby Boy Scothorne due in April; grandson Richard Imbrogna; granddaughter Stephanie Wagstaff; sister Sheila (Charles) Asklund; brothers Sean Donovan, Dennis Donovan (Brenda); many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
He will be reunited with his mother and father, Marion and John as well as his sister Barbara Watts and nephew Richard Watts. He will be dearly missed by all.
Donovan was born in Boston, Mass. He graduated from North Quincy High School in 1963. During his Senior year, he joined the United States Naval Reserves. Upon graduation, he went on active duty for four years including a tour in Vietnam on the Robert E. Kraus.
He worked at Raytheon before joining the Rockland Police Department in 1974. Working his way through the ranks, he became Chief in 1989 serving the Town of Rockland for 32 years. He also graduated from the FBI Academy in 1992.
A Celebration of Kevin’s Life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1301 Sebastian Blvd, Sebastian, FL 32958.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kevin’s memory to American Cancer Society of Indian River County, 1460 36th Street, Vero Beach, FL. 32960.
