Regina Gschwind, 80, of Indian River Shores, passed away on peacefully surrounded by family on Feb. 1, 2016.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, John; their four children and spouses John and Katherine Gschwind of Redding, Conn., Maria and Wayne Horvath of Cleveland, Ohio, Julia and Tim Shea, of Austin, Texas, and Clare and Chris Skorcz of Lynchburg, Va.; her 10 beloved grandchildren, John Paul Gschwind, Emily and Andrew Horvath, Jack, Patrick, and Kathleen Shea, Madeleine, Julia, Clare Therese, and Paul Skorcz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Rosemary, and her son, Paul, with whom she has been joyfully reunited in the presence of our Savior.
Gschwind was born on Jan. 11, 1936, to Mary and Cyril Crane. She graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Ind., where she met the love of her life, John K. Gschwind.
She and John were married on June 22, 1957. Their union was blessed by the many joys of five children, and cherished her family and adored her 10 grandchildren who affectionately knew her as “Queenie.”
Gschwind was a devout communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m.
She will be interred at Our Lady of Sorrows at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Notre Dame, Ind.
