Alleged cocaine trafficker, girlfriend arrested in Vero Beach

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Vero Beach man and his girlfriend are in jail following a search warrant on drug charges.

Benigno Morales Ramos, 33, of 1880 36th Ave., Vero Beach, was arrested Thursday morning and is being held in the Indian River County Jail in lieu of $110,000 bond.

His girlfriend, 32-year-old Nayeli Cruz, was also arrested, though on unrelated charges. She had an active warrant for habitually driving with a suspended license. She was released from jail on $5,000 bail.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Vero Beach Police Department, executed the search warrant at Ramos’s Vero Beach home.

The search yielded a total of 71.5 grams of cocaine and $11,763.

Ramos faces seven total felony charges including one count trafficking cocaine, three counts sale of cocaine and three counts possession of cocaine.
