VERO BEACH — The City of Vero Beach announced Wednesday afternoon that it has lifted the precautionary boil-water notice that it issued on Sunday night.
The notice was put in place after a power outage at the Vero Beach Water Treatment Plant resulted in a loss of pressure in the pipes. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection requires a boil water notice to be issued should pressure fall below 20 pounds per square inch.
Vero officials say two sets of tests of samples from roughly 30 different locations on the system came back clean, two days in a row, allowing the notice to be lifted.
