VERO BEACH — The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will present Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto on Feb. 7 at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center.
Featured on the concert, is one of the most glorious works in all of music, Bruckner’s Fourth Symphony.
The first movement is absolutely cosmic in its grandeur, the second gentle and mysterious, the Scherzo almost frenzied yet always surging forward while under control with a first climax halfway through before the bucolic, sweetly meandering second theme will make your hair curl.
The Finale is rapturous, building and building with soft yet menacing tread, the strings a swirling maelstrom of passion, and closes with one of the most deeply moving and powerful coda’s in all of music.
More than any other composer, Bruckner’s music speaks to the soul in a live setting. It’s a rarity to hear Bruckner in Florida and the Symphony cannot wait to present his breathtaking symphony.
