Gwendolyn H. Jones, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 28, 2016, at her residence.
She is survived by her daughter Claudia Jones of Miami; brother Donald Harless of The Villages, Fla.; sisters Ruby Spencer of Vero Beach and Marcella Miller of Baton Rouge, La.
She was predeceased by her husband Claude.
Jones was born in Chapmanville, W.Va., and has been a resident of Vero Beach for 20 years coming from Huntsville, Ala. Prior to retirement, she worked as an administrative assistant for Tektronix for 20 years in Huntsville, Ala.
She was of the Baptist faith and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Vero Beach.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by a chapel service at 2 p.m. at Aycock Funeral Home, 6026 N. US Highway 1 Ft. Pierce, FL 34946.
An interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 2206 16th Ave Vero Beach, FL 32960. Friends may visit the online guest book at www.aycock-hillcrest.com. Arrangements are under the care of Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
