INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A grandson is in custody after being accused of violently attacking his grandparents.

Horn faces two counts of second degree attempted murder, and two counts of felony aggravated battery on a person over 65, according to his booking record. He is being held without bond. The victims are 77 and 76.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance at 2:45 a.m. Sunday in the 7000 block of 20th Street where an elderly couple was attacked.

They were transported to the Indian River Medical Center for treatment of their injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Horn attempted to strangle both of them “with his fists.”

His grandmother received six broken ribs and a broken sternum. Doctors are still working to determine the extent of injuries to his grandfather.

Authorities did not mention a motive for the attack.
