Joseph C. Scala, 69, of Sebastian, passed away on Jan. 15, 2016, at the Sebastian River Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary Lou Scala of Sebastian; daughter and son-in law, Mary and Robert LaFontaine II of Beavercreek, Ohio; two grandchildren, Robert III and Nicole; brother Anthony; and four sisters, Grace, Margaret, Jean and Theresa.
Scala was born June 26, 1946, in Perth Amboy, N.J., and had been a resident of Indian River County for 25 years coming from New Jersey.
He owned and operated his own Ceramic Company in New Jersey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam.
