Sandra Lee Bell Skinner, 70, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 14, 2016, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
She is survived by her cousin Nadene Harris of Doerun, Ga., and fiancee Rick Waters of Vero Beach.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Lee “Pete” Knight.
Skinner was born in Fort Pierce and has been a life time resident of St. Lucie and Indian River Counties.
She was a graduate of Vero Beach High School, Class of 1963. She went on to earn an Associate of Science Degree from Indian River State College in Human Resource Management.
She was hired by the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office in 1991 as Records Clerk and went on to service the Office as Human Resource Assistant, Human Resource Specialist and retired in May, 2015 as Human Resource Administrator.
Skinner was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Florida Sheriff’s Association where she served on the association’s Administrative Advisory Committee, the Society for Human Resource Management and the American Business Women’s Association.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960 in memory of Sandra Lee Bell Skinner.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. A Celebration of Sandy’s Life will begin at 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16 at Strunk Funeral Home.
