Dorothy Rose Massirio, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 14, 2016, at Indian River Estates Medical Center.
She is survived by her children John (Laraine) Masserio of Weeki Wachee, Carol (Richard) Sarnowski of Boca Raton and June (Ronald) Hartunian of Port St. Lucie; grandchildren Jason (his partner Lisa Galano) Sarnowski and Craig Sarnowski, Joel Hartunian, Edward (Candy) Woodward, Laurie Fargione, Karleen Giarratana, Dorene Beach, Larry Woodward, John Masserio and Lisa Masserio; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Massirio and a grandson Brad Sarnowski.
Massirio was born in Pratola Peligna, Italy and moved to Vero Beach in 1985 from New Britain, Conn.
She had been the Sportswear Manager at Levy’s Clothing Store in New Britain for 15 years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and the Italian American Women’s Auxiliary Association in Vero Beach.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at St. Helen Catholic Church. She will be transferred to the Carlson Funeral Home in New Britain for final services and interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
