Ronnie Lee VanSweringen, 79, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 1, 2016, at the Vero Beach Hospice House.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Howard VanSweringen, mother, Irene (Turner) VanSweringen, and brother, Howard Lee VanSweringen, Sr.
VanSweringen was born Sept. 26, 1936.
He served in the U.S. Navy. He was an artist who painted from the age of 10-years-old using different mediums and styles. VanSweringen was also a short-story writer, real estate investor, animal lover and a visionary. He spent his life pursuing the art of expression and helping others in the community.
Graveside rites and burial will be at the Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, Md., on Jan. 20, 2016, at 11 a.m. with Military Honors. Memorial contributions in Ronnie’s honor may be made to the Vero Beach Hospice House or to The American Cancer Society.
