Joseph Rudolph Malanio, 80, Sebastian

Joseph Rudolph Malanio, 80, of Sebastian, passed away on Jan. 13, 2016.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Malanio of Sebastian; son Joseph Raymond Malanio III of Milford, Penn.; daughters Donna Shumaker of Longmont, Colo. and Annette Mann of Hayesville, N.C.; and six grandchildren.

Malanio was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., and lived in Sebastian coming from Danbury, Conn.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the early Vietnam era.

He was an electrical engineer at AT&T for 27 years before his retirement in 1989.

Malanio was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, a Third Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and volunteered with St. Sebastian Catholic Church’s “The Saints” & Saint Vincent De Paul. He was also a member of VFW Post 10210 and American Legion Post 189.

Visitation will be 4 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian with a Prayer Service at 5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church.
