Karen Lee Oriscak, 70, Vero Beach

Karen Lee Oriscak, 70, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 12, 2016, at the VNA Hospice House.

She is survived by her husband John Oriscak of Vero Beach; son David Oriscak of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter Deborah Ruth Ruiz of Charlotte, N.C.; sister Maureen Hriscenko of Vero Beach; brothers Bruce Benny of Emerson, N.J., and David Benny of Vero Beach; and a granddaughter Ashley Shannon Hirst.

Oriscak was born in Teaneck, N.J., to the late Albert and Virginia (nee Heck) Benny and moved to Vero Beach five years ago from Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.

A graduate of secretarial school, she worked in occasional secretarial roles as her busy family life would allow.

Oriscak was a devout Christian and enjoyed attending different churches to explore their view. In addition to being a devoted wife and loving mother she was an avid reader, absorbing much knowledge through her enjoyment of reading.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Interment will be in New York. Plans for services have not yet been announced.
