Violet H. Russo, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 11, 2016, at the Indian River Medical Center.
She is survived by her daughter Debra Young of Vero Beach; son William (Linda) Russo of Vero Beach; sister Marie Budroe of Cherry Hille, N.J.; brother Tom Rulis of Harrisburg, Penn.; grandchildren Jared Smith, Alison Smith, Christopher Young, and great-grandson Camden Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Russo and a son-in-law Jay Young.
Russo was born in Mahanoy City, Penn., and moved to Vero Beach in 1963.
She received her nursing degree from Mt. Sinai School of Nursing in New York. After moving to Vero Beach, she began working as a registered nurse for Dr. Gold. Along with her husband, the late Bernard Russo, she was a co-owner of Dependable Dodge in Vero Beach where she served as vice-president.
Violet was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach and she enjoyed antiquing and playing Mahjong.
