William Robert Clinard, 84, of Vero Beach, passed away on Nov. 30, 2015.
He is survived by brothers Chuck Clinard (Jean) of Bowling Green, Ohio and Dan Clinard of Cathedral City, Calif.; sister Shirley Murphy of Vero Beach; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents Everett and Gretchen Clinard, and by three brothers, Everett, Jr., Donald, and Ted.
Clinard was born in Hoopeston, Ill., Nov. 17, 1931, and graduated from Urbana High School in 1949. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1954 and was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity.
He served in the US Army Quarter Master Corps as a 1st Lieutenant, from 1954 to 1956, at Fort Lee, Va., and Bad Kissingen, Germany. In his professional career, he worked for Illinois Bell (1956-1985) in various customer service managerial capacities in Chicago, Ill. He became a realtor after his retirement working for Century 21 in Chicago and Fort Lauderdale until 2010.
Clinard was very active in the Vero community, volunteering with the Cancer Society and becoming active member of First United Methodist Church. Over the past year, he has served as the President of the Resident Council at Horizon Bay.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Vero Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to First United Methodist Church.
