Thomas R. Ciancia, 68, Vero Beach

Thomas R. Ciancia, 68, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 6, 2016, at Indian River Medical Center.

He is survived by his beloved wife Gay; sons Frank and Tom; uncles Henry and Joey; daughter-in-law Lieann; sister and brother-in-law Christy and Johnny Stiles; sisters-in-law Susan Stege and Jan Quoma; cousins Rich, Karen, Joey, Bobby and their wives, Cathy, Roselyn and Lee; close friends Mike and Val- Scribner, Charlie and Dottie Morrell, Lou and Clair Drago and lifelong friend, Big Jim Wallace.

He was a dedicated father and devoted husband to his caregiver wife and lifelong friend, the person he trusted unconditionally. They enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 38 years.

Ciancia was a native of Jersey City, N.J. and has lived in Vero Beach since 2004, coming from Palm City. He worked for Fireman’s Fund Insurance for nine years after which he owned and operated an independent Appraisal Firm. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8, Monday, Jan. 11, 2016 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach.
