Woman dies after fire on New Year’s Eve

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The woman who was rescued from her home after it caught fire New Year’s Eve has died. 

She was using an oxygen tank while smoking in her bedroom, according to authorities. 

Louise Swink, 87, was found by Indian River County Rescue in her room in the 2100 block of 6th Ave. She was pronounced dead at Lawnwood Medical Center. She suffered from smoke inhalation.
