VERO BEACH — Fredrick Brandt, 76, was found safe by Florida Highway Patrol on I-95 at mile marker 127, just south of the Okeechobee Road exit in Fort Pierce, according to the Vero Beach Police Department.
A caller reported the Infinity Brandt was driving after recognizing it from the silver alert, a statement from the Vero Beach Police Department indicates.
Florida Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop and found Brandt safe in the vehicle.
Brandt left 50 Cache Cay in Vero Beach in a silver 2010 Infinity M35X four door, with a tag of AHXG64 according to authorities. He was reported missing at 6:45 a.m. Thursday.
According to police, he has dementia, which is why authorities were trying to find him.
“The Vero Beach Police Department would like to thank the public for their assistance in sharing this information and helping locate Mr. Brandt safely and quickly,” said Vero Beach Police Department public information officer Anna Carden, in a statement.
