Evelyn Vansant Grice, 93, Vero Beach

Evelyn Vansant Grice, 93, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 3, 2016, at the VNA Hospice House.

She is survived by her loving sons Michael F. (Frieda) McClure of West Palm Beach and Glenn E. (Cathy) McClure of Kingsport, Tenn.; daughter LaTrelle G. (Bob) Kennedy of Vero Beach; grandchildren Scott (Leslie) McClure, Doug McClure, Rebecca Ragsdale (Brandon) Carter and Rachel Ragsdale; and great-grandchildren Morgan and Max McClure and Finnigan and Breccan Carter. She was also beloved by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Freeman Oakley McClure and her second husband Perry George Grice, and four sisters and two brothers.

Grice was born in Douglasville, Ga., to the late Jesse Latrelle (nee Hudson) and Harvey Reuben Vansant. She was raised in East Point, Ga., where she was a graduate of Russell High School in 1940.

She moved to Vero Beach in 1971 from West Palm Beach. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Vero Beach.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a funeral service celebrating her life beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery.
