4 teens nabbed in car, gun theft

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A suspicious persons call led to the arrest of four teens on Saturday evening when police connected them with a stolen car and a stolen firearm, the arrest reports show.

A 911 caller reported seeing four men leave a red Honda near her residence in the 1900 block of Tamara Trail.

Officers made contact with the teens near the intersection of 74th Avenue and State Road 60. They were not carrying identification and gave vague answers about where they were from and where they were going.

One defendant was found carrying a loaded pistol in his pocket. Another was carrying a flathead screwdriver.

The gun and the car were each reported stolen out of Palm Beach County.

All four defendants face a single charge of grand theft auto.

Malik Hayes John, 19, of Riviera Beach, faces an additional felony charge for possession of burglary tools. He was released from the Indian River County Jail on $20,000 bond.

The other two defendants, Joshua Marshall, 17, of West Palm Beach, and Collin Woodard, 17, of Riviera Beach, were each transferred to the Juvenile Department of Corrections.
