Edward J. Parisen, 87, of Sebastian, passed away on Dec. 24, 2015.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eileen Parisen of Sebastian; son, Edward J. Parisen III (Lazara) of Mamaroneck, N.Y.; daughter Kathleen Pirrung (Robert) of Micco; grandsons Tyler and Ryan Pirrung of Micco and William Parisen.
He was preceded in death by his son James Vincent Parisen in 1989.
Parisen was born in Jamaica, N.Y. and lived in the Sebastian and Vero Beach area for 25 years coming from Hicksville, Long Island, N.Y.
He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
His entire career revolved around horse racing and he retired as a Mutual Clerk from the New York Racing Association after 25 years.
Parisen was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach and was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
He was an avid golfer and loved horse racing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
