Driver going 100+ mph on US 1 crashes into building

VERO BEACH — A woman driving more than 100 mph early this morning crashed into a building on Miracle Mile.

Chandler Rose Foster, 19, of Sebastian, crashed her white Cadillac SUV into On Site Window Tinting, located at 770 21st St., shortly before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Vero Beach Police. She was arrested.

Foster and her passenger, a 23-year-old male, told investigators that Foster had been driving more than 100 mph north on US 1 from 17 Street before she lost control of the vehicle.

According to police, Foster was driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.172 – more than double the legal limit. Investigators found an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Foster was arrested and faces charges that include DUI with Property Damage, Leaving Scene of an Accident with Property Damage, Reckless Driving, Possession of Alcohol by a Person under 21, Possession of Marijuana under 20 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was also issued a citation for a Possession of an Open Container in a vehicle.

Neither she nor her passenger were reported to have sustained any injuries in the crash.

Foster remains in the county jail in lieu of $13,500 bond.
