GIFFORD — The man believed to be high on the drug Flakka that stabbed two people Dec. 24 was apprehended during a traffic stop Monday afternoon.
Travis Gordon, 31, was arrested Monday at 4:45 p.m. at 20th Street and 20th Avenue, according to his booking report. He is accused of stabbing his victims multiple times with a knife.
The incident happened around 9:25 p.m. Dec. 24 in the 3900 block of 47th St. in Gifford.
When deputies arrived to the 3900 block of 47th St., they located a 50-year-old victim with multiple stab wounds, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. The person was flown to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
A second victim, a 41-year-old male, with minor injuries was also located nearby and transported by ambulance to the Indian River Medical Center, resulting in Indian River’s ER to be placed on lock down, which is standard for gunshot or stabbing incidents of this nature.
Gordon faces charges including two counts of felony first degree murder, and one count of misdemeanor resisting arrest without violence after he did not comply to commands to exit the vehicle. He is being held without bond at the Indian River County Jail.
